Privacy notice
What we do with the details you send us, and what we do not do with them.
What we collect
If you fill in the enquiry form we collect the name, email address, telephone number and — where you choose to give them — the postcode, number of windows and description of the problem that you type into it. We do not ask for anything else, and there is no account to create.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
Solely to answer your enquiry, give you a price and arrange a survey. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have asked us for a quotation, and we cannot provide one without contacting you. We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
Who sees it
Enquiries are delivered to our own staff through a private messaging channel. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to third-party lead brokers.
The technical suppliers that necessarily handle the data in transit are our website host and content delivery network (Cloudflare) and the messaging platform that delivers the enquiry to us (Telegram). Both act as processors of the message you send. Our analytics processor is named in the analytics section below; it does not receive your enquiry.
Anti-spam checks
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than an automated script. It runs invisibly and does not track you across other websites.
Analytics and cookies
We use PostHog to count page views and understand which guides people find useful. PostHog acts as our processor and the data is stored on its European Union infrastructure. Analytics requests are routed through our own domain rather than sent to PostHog directly, so the traffic is first-party — but PostHog is still the recipient, and we would rather name it than describe it vaguely.
Screen recording is switched off, we do not send PostHog your name, email or telephone number, and nothing here is used to build an advertising profile of you. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking pixels.
PostHog sets one first-party cookie on your device so that repeat visits in the same browser are counted as one person rather than several. If you would rather not be counted, any browser setting or extension that blocks cookies for this site will prevent it, and the site will work exactly as it does now.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Where we carry out work, we keep the job record for six years, which is the period we may need it for accounting, warranty and insurance purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to our holding it. Send the request through the enquiry form and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
